Can you help me start this essay off?

I have to write an essay about juxtaposition used in the Great Gatsby. I decided to choose the West and East egg but I do not know how to start this off. I am not suppose to start it off with In the novel The great gatsby by..... blah. Can you please help me? I am not asking you to do my homework, I just want advice on how to write a good hook.
